Big 5 Construct Ethiopia returns for 2nd edition solidifying continued business growth amid evolving construction sector opportunities

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia | 24th April 2024: Ethiopia’s economy is set for immense growth driven by investment, manufacturing, industrial development and exports, most of which centre around a burgeoning construction sector, valued at $41bn (Source: ABiQ).To capitalize on the opportunities generated by these sectors, the 2nd edition of Big 5 Construct Ethiopia will take place at the Millennium Hall, Addis Ababa in Ethiopia from 30 May – 1 June 2024.

Endorsed by Ethiopia’s Ministry for Urban and Infrastructure, the event is tailor-made for contractors, developers, consultants, architects, project managers, civil engineers, designers, urban planners, sustainability engineers, procurement managers and more, with over 9,000 attendees expected this year.

 

Ethiopia is currently engaged in large-scale construction and infrastructure projects, including the $4bn Addis Ababa International Airport expansion project, the $1.9bn mixed-use development, La Gare and the $681mn 70-storey Mesob Tower.

 

With a growing construction sector driven by these projects and developments, Big 5 Construct Ethiopia presents ten diversified product sectors. These include Building Materials; Building Interiors & Finishes; Construction Tools & Personal Protection Equipment; Digital Construction Products & Services; Heavy Construction Equipment, Machinery & Vehicles; HVAC R Products, Technologies & Services; MEP Services; Solar Products, Technologies & Services; Urban Design & Landscape Products, Technologies & Services and Windows, Doors & Façades/ Special Construction.

 

Among the 150 exhibitors this year from 19 countries, there are first time exhibitors, including Jotun Paints, a specialist in paint and coatings; Germany’s EJOT, a fastener manufacturer for the construction industry; Bostik, France-based manufacturer and distributor of sealants; plastics manufacturer, Araib Factory for Industry from Saudi Arabia and Roofings Middle East, a leading fabricator of pre-engineered steel buildings and cladding products from the UAE.

Infrastructure will be a new talk stream theme this year, alongside sustainability, project management, technology, engineering and architecture & design.
